Funeral services for Geraldine “Gerry” Utley will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, August 30, 2024 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Homes in West Monroe. Rev. Carl Utley will officiate. Interment will follow at Kilpatrick’s Serenity Gardens. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Gerry was born on May 28, 1930 in West Monroe and passed away on August 27, 2024 in West Monroe. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and was especially fond of the women in her Sunday school class. With her husband, Vernard, Gerry lived and traveled in the United States, Europe, and Asia as a military family. She often remarked how blessed she was to have seen and experienced so much. For the last seven years, she was a resident of the West Monroe Guest House where she received extraordinary care. In her Gerry’s final months, she was in the capable of hands of Elara Caring. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernard Utley; daughter, Judy Ann Smith; brothers, Kermit Ward, Gayle Ward, Kenneth Ward; sister, Shirley Corkern.

Gerry is survived by her son, Carl Utley and wife Katherine; grandsons, Ryan Smith and wife Alyson, Adam Utley, Allie Utley and husband Steve Briden, Hannah Speaks and husband Chris, Emily Claire Utley and husband Zach Wood; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Ralph Ward and wife Gail; several nieces and nephews and many other cherished family and friends.
