Funeral services for Mrs. Georgia L. LeVasseur, 94, of Shreveport formerly of Ruston will be 2:00 PM Thursday, October 8, 2015 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston with Rev. Rolly Walker officiating.Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston.Mrs. LeVasseur passed away Friday, October 2, 2015. She is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years Felix O. LeVasseur; sister: Moise Gravelle; and brother: Clyde Smith. Mrs. LeVasseur was a resident of Ruston for 56 years and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She spent the last 6 and half years at Glen Retirement Center in Shreveport. Mrs. LeVasseur attended LA Tech and Northwestern before beginning her career in fashion merchandising in Ruston and Monroe. Her hobbies following her retirement were gardening, volunteering at the hospital as a Pink Lady and playing bridge. She was an avid Lady Techsters and L.S.U. Football fan. Mrs. LeVasseur was involved in many aspects of church work.She is survived by her daughters: Judy Cassibry (Reg) of Shreveport, LA and Janey Hockenhull (Bob) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; granddaughters: Amanda Moreau (Dave Hodgson) of New York, New York; grandson: Andy Moreau (Stacy) of New Orleans, LA and Capt.
