Mr. George R. Kilgore was born June 2, 1948, to Rupert and Eunice Braley Kilgore in Plain Dealing, LA. He went to be with our Lord and Savior on January 13, 2020, after a lengthy illness. He was a beloved educator for over 25 years and influenced many young minds in Jackson, Lincoln and Morehouse Parishes. Reading, entertaining his family and friends with his stories and going with his wife on vacations, to the movies and restaurants brought him great pleasure. The Lord Jesus Christ, his wife, his children, and grandchildren were his life.George R. Kilgore is survived by wife, Penny Guynes Kilgore; daughter, Karen Smith and husband Chris; three sons: Jess Kilgore and wife Margie, Michael Kilgore and Ronald Kilgore; five grandchildren: Daniel Kilgore, Makayla Kilgore, Audrey Smith, Ethan Smith, and Natalie Deason.Special Thanks to his caregivers: Michael Kilgore and Tender Touch Care Giving Service: LaTonya Jackson, Kami Williams, Linda Washington, and Skyler Calcote. Special Thanks to Compassus Hospice Care for their services.Visitation will be on Saturday, January 18, 2020, at 10 AM, at Dubach United Methodist Church followed by Memorial Services at 11 AM, under the directions of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston. Officiating the memorial will be Pastor Stephanie Green. The Eulogy will be given by Jess Kilgore.
