Memorial services for George Oskoian, Sr. 94, of Monroe will be at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe with Dr. Alan Miller, Rev. Chris West and Rev. Cindy Goza officiating. Interment to follow at Kilpatrick's Serenity Gardens. Mr. Oskoian was born September 12, 1917 in Revere, MA, and passed away February 19, 2012 in Monroe, LA. Mr. Oskoian loved to cook, travel, coastal fishing and jazz music. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 40 years of service. He also served multiple terms as state president of the postal workers union. Mr. Oskoian was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Georgia Belle Goza; his son, George Edward Oskoian II; his sisters, Julia and Margie; brothers, Jacob, Charles and Gregory. He is survived by his sister, Barbara Muksian and husband Bob; sisters-in-law, Frances Goza Curty and Peggy Goza Eppinette; brother-in-law, Elmer Reed; grandchildren, Tony Oskoian, Nicholas Oskoian, Julia Oskoian and Christopher Oskoian; two great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until service time Wednesday at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe.
