Funeral services for George Ezell Marks of Calhoun, LA will be held at 3:00 P.M., Sunday, August 7, 2022 at New Chapel Hill Baptist Church under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Homes of West Monroe. Interment will follow at New Chapel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M., Saturday, August 6, 2022 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in West Monroe.
George was born on August 20, 1946 in Portageville, MO and passed away August 3, 2022 in West Monroe surrounded by his wife and family. George loved the Lord and served him as a deacon for 51 years. He loved his church and church friends. George had many talents and hobbies. His favorite hobby was fishing with his buddies. George served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam War veteran. He returned home and went to NLU and received a degree in accounting. George met the love of his life, Jane and they were married in January of 1970. He and his partner, Travis Tynes, opened an accounting practice. George later became self employed as a CPA. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Samuel and Dolly Florence Marks, four sisters, and three brothers. George is survived by his wife, Jane Marks; daughter, Michelle Young; son, Samuel Marks; granddaughters, Bailey and Natalie Young; grandson, Jackson Marks and goddaughter, Hannah Laborde.

Memorials may be made to Gideons International (Gideons.org) or the Alzheimer’s Association (Alz.org) in George’s memory.
