Funeral services for Freda Kay Lowther, 83, of Monroe, Louisiana will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, April 19, 2021 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, Monroe. Brother Lindle Sewart will be officiating.  Interment will follow at Weldon Cemetery, Bernice, LA.  Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until time of service, Monday, April 19, 2021 at the funeral home.

There are three things that remain – faith, hope and love – and the greatest of these is love.  This verse describes the life of Freda “Kay” Lowther because the love for her family ran deep.  She was a member of New Light Baptist Church.   Kay often expressed her love through exemplary cooking recognized by all, including her church group and catering clients.  She was the firstborn of five children to A.D. Roach, Sr. and Edith Greene Roach on August 25, 1937 at home in Bernice, LA.  She passed to her heavenly home on April 15, 2021.  Charles “Chuck” Lowther, her loving husband of 63 years mourns her passing.  She is also survived by her brother, Danny Roach (Debbie) of Broussard, LA and her sister, Liz Boyd (Rodney) of Baton Rouge, LA.  She has 4 nieces, 2 nephews, 4 great nieces, 12 great nephews, 3 great-great nieces and 3 great-great nephews who she loved as her own grandchildren.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents, A.D. and Edith Roach; sisters, Linda Crews and Sue Eppler; nephews, Jim Crews, Patrick Crews; and niece, Cheryl Crews.

Pallbearers will be Rodney Boyd, Jr., Michael Sturgis, Josh Sturgis, Rodney Boyd, Sr., Chad Huesers and Heath Woodrum.

Honorary pallbearers are Mike Moore and Sam DiGiammarino.
