Funeral services for Frances Pearl Hudson Barrett, age 85, will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, March 9, 2012, in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Monroe. Brother Norman Bryant will officiate. Interment will follow at the Downsville Community Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe. Frances was born on August 29, 1926, in McBride, MS, and passed away on March 5, 2012 in Monroe. She was an automotive bookkeeper for many of the area dealerships over her long career. She delighted in vegetable gardening, especially cucumbers and tomatoes, and she loved spending time on her back patio enjoying nature. She also enjoyed dropping by Salem on weekdays to watch Days of Our Lives. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Angela; her brothers Edward, Boyd, and JB; and her sister Margie. Frances is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, Charles E. Barrett Jr of Monroe; sister Annette Giordano and her husband Gerald; her sister Sylvia Bowman and her husband Buddy; her brother Cornie Hudson and his wife Vernie; her brother John Hudson and his wife Marti; her son Charlie Barrett and his wife Carolyn; her son Tom Barrett; her grand-daughter Anastasia; her dear friend Janis Creel and her husband Jerald; and her many friends, family, and associates. Donations may be made in Frances' name to the Rowland Road Baptist Church, the American Cancer Society, or the American Diabetes Association Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, March 8, 2012 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe.
