Funeral services for Mrs. Frances M. Matlock, age 85, of Dubach will be held on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church in Dubach, LA. Rev. Todd Free will be officiating with burial to follow in the Henry Cemetery in Hico under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston, LA. Mrs. Matlock was born on June 21, 1927 in Hico, LA and passed away on July 29, 2012, in Ruston, LA following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Matlock was a Registered Nurse at Lincoln General Hospital for over 33 years. While at the hospital, she was the first employee of the month and employee of the year in 1990. Mrs. Frances trained many of the nurses who have worked in Lincoln Parish. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Dubach where she taught Sunday School and worked with the WMU. Frances was one of the most dedicated Christian women and mothers ever. Others saw Jesus in the way she lived each and every day. She accomplished all these things while raising six children in a Godly home. Mrs. Matlock was preceded in death by her parents: Burmah and D.C. McGee; brother: Joe Louis McGee; sister: Nellowyn McGee; and her husband: Elmo Coile Matlock. She is survived by her children: Carolyn Frances Blaize Eric of Benton, LA; Durwood E. Matlock of Ruston, LA; Clara Jeanette Missy Matlock of Ruston, LA; Michael R. Matlock Sharon of Sibley, LA; Stephen Louis Matlock Billie Ruth of Quitman, LA; and Tony Joe Matlock of Shreveport, LA; 15 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren: three sisters: Margaret Deason of Dubach, LA; Madeline Johnson of Arcadia, LA; and Rebecca Robinson of Dallas, TX; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Tim Wynn, Timothy Wynn, Kenneth Matlock, Shawn A. Simpson, Daniel Simpson, and Connor Matlock.
