Funeral services for Mrs. Frances Jean Campbell Brister, age 84, will be 1:30 P.M., Sunday, August 11, 2013, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Monroe. Visitation will be Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Monroe from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Officiating will be Rev. Dale Walker. Entombment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Homes of Monroe. Mrs. Brister was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on July 20, 1929, and passed away at her residence on August 7, 2013, after a lengthy illness, surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sidney & Minnie Campbell; and great-grandson, Trent Weaver. Survivors are her loving husband of 69 years, Walter Andrew Brister, Jr; daughters, Dianne Thompson and husband, Chip of Baltimore, MD and children, Ryan Thompson of Cincinnati, OH and Lauren Sargent and husband, Bryan of Washington, D.C.; Debbie Barker and husband, Travis of Grandberry, TX and children, Brad Barker of Los Angeles, CA, Brian Barker and wife, Jennifer of Amarillo, TX, and Brandon Barker and wife, Sara of Fort Worth, TX; Drew Farr and husband, Joe of Monroe, LA and children, Shonda McIntyre and husband, Phil of Los Angeles, CA, Patrick Farr of Los Angeles, CA, and Peyton Farr and wife, Meryl of Mer Rouge, LA; Danna Braud and husband, Hud of Monroe, LA and children, Bristen and Brelynn Witty of Baton Rouge, LA, and Bric Braud of Monroe, LA; Donna VanVeckhoven and Mike VanVeckhoven of Monroe, LA and children, Colby Weaver and fiance, Jared Walker of Monroe, Trey Weaver and wife, Ashley of Monroe, LA, Truman VanVeckhoven of Baton Rouge, LA, Connor VanVeckhoven of Baton Rouge, LA, and Trevor VanVeckhoven of Monroe, LA; son, Walter Andrew Brister, III Bubby and wife, Bonnie of Mandeville, LA and children, Madeline and Andrew of Mandeville, LA; great grandsons, Beau, Barrett, and Britton Barker, Aly and Bear Barker, Ava Drew McIntyre, Kaitlyn Thompson, and Allison Sargent; brother, Sidney L. Campbell, Jr.; sisters, Shirley Cummings and husband, George; Sue Millet and husband, Bruce; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Brad Barker, Brian Barker, Brandon Barker, Ryan Thompson, Patrick Farr, Peyton Farr, Bric Braud, Trey Weaver, Truman VanVeckhoven, Trevor VanVeckhoven, and Andrew Brister. Honorary pallbearers will be son in laws, Chip Thompson, Travis Barker, Joe Farr, Hud Braud, Mike VanVeckhoven, and nephew, Rod Cascio. The family would like to thank Prime Care Home Health and Premier Hospice for their care, compassion and kindness shown to our mother during this most difficult time.
