Funeral services for Jewel Frances Dean, 90, will be at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at First Baptist Church in Sterlington, LA. under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Homes ~ Monroe. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe.  Rev. Dennis Hackler and Rev. Ben Hackler will officiate.    Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the service at the church.

Frances was born in Hico, Louisiana on March 30, 1931 and passed away after a lengthy illness in Bastrop, LA on May 16, 2021.  She was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother.  She was an excellent cook, seamstress, quilter, and she loved her church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Thelma Doss; daughter, Martha Buffington; grandson, Jeff DeVille; sisters, Leona Nunnery and Betty Post; and in-laws, Brady and Eula Dean.

Frances is survived by her husband, Thaddeus Lafeze Dean; children, Charlotte DeVille (Jerry) and Debbie McGough (Hugh); son-in-law, Kenny Buffington; brother, Thomas Leonard Doss; grandchildren, Benji Buffington (Hannah), Patrick McGough (Polly), Courtney Worley (Ben), Kelly Bennett (Corey), and Morgan McGough (Margaret); great-grandchildren, Hallie DeVille, Wesley Hart, Marley Bennett, Peter McGough, John McGough, Deacon Worley, Harrison Buffington, Olivia Buffington, Mila Worley, and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Benji Buffington, Patrick McGough, Morgan McGough, Corey Bennett, Jacob Ashley, and Logan Roberson.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the wonderful staff at Cherry Ridge Skilled Facility in Bastrop for the loving care of their mother.
