All our prayers and condolences go to Ben's wife, Margaret Ann, my cousin. I first met Ben about 60 years ago and he was kind and friendly a soul as you would ever want to meet. I last saw Ben at my Aunt Louise's funeral and he had not changed a bit. He was as good to his community as he was to his family. To my cousin, Margaret Ann, I felt much sorrow and sadness when my brother Paul told me about Ben's passing this morning (7/4). All our thoughts and prayers go out to you and yours in this your moment of deep sorrow. I regret not being at your side for Ben's funeral.

Our deepest sympathy. Mr. James was a very kind man, I enjoyed visiting with him about sports. He often ended his messsage on my voicemail with "Go Rangers". He had a great sense of humor. He will be missed.

May we all seek to grow in Faith, Love, and Acts of service as Ben did. He was and will continue to be a loyal and true friend. Joe Kavanaugh

We will miss visiting with Ben each year when we come to the Homecoming of the LA Methodist Children's Home. I (Jack) remember as a small child receiving a silver dollar at Christmas which the James family gave to all of us at the Home. Our love to Margaret Ann and all the family.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Ben. He was a wonderful person that was always so positive and supportive of me and so many others. I cherish the memories of lunches with him and our talks of basketball. My prayers are with the entire family. Ruston has lost one of it's finest and most respected men, a true Hall of Famer in my book. I am in Dallas keeping the grandchildren and will miss the funeral but will be thinking of you during that time. Jack Thigpen
