FERN BRANTLEY NORRIS Graveside services for Fern Brantley Norris will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, March 13, 2007 at Liberty Hill Cemetery, Farmerville, Louisiana. Mr. Larry White, minister with the Church of Christ, will be officiating. Visitation will be Monday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Tuesday morning from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Farmerville, LA. Mrs. Norris was born September 28, 1914, in Farmerville, Louisiana and died peacefully on March 10, 2007, in Lafayette, Louisiana. Preceding her in death were her parents, Jesse and Lillie Brantley, her husband of 67 years, James Modell Norris, her brothers, Carnie and Jim Brantley, and one sister Loma Brantley Giddens. She is survived by one daughter, Judith Norris Baker and husband Dr. Larry Baker of Lafayette, Louisiana, one son, James M. Norris II and fianc© Sandra Montague of Bossier City, Louisiana, three grandchildren, Allyson McEacharn Bradshaw and husband Tripp of Charleston, South Carolina, Lisa Norris Willis and husband Dave of Atlanta, Georgia, and James M. Norris III and wife Kimberly of Shreveport, Louisiana, three great-grandchildren, Lillie Bradshaw, Max Willis and Sadie Willis, and one sister, Starline Brantley Hill of West Monroe, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mrs. Norris was valedictorian of her high school class in Union Parish. A graduate of University of Louisiana at Monroe, Mrs. Norris began her teaching career at Hopewell School in Downsville, Louisiana. She also taught many years in the Ouachita Parish School System and was active in the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a member of the Church of Christ and attended faithfully as long as her health permitted.
