A welcome home service for Margaret Faye Creel, age 79, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, August 11, 2024, at The Pentecostals of the Twin Cities. Visitation will begin at 1:00 P.M. until service time. Officiating will be Pastor Jason Ramsey with daughter, Kimberly Creel Rutledge offering family memories. The interment will be held in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Services are under the direction and care of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe.
Faye was preceded in death by her sons, Mark Creel and Kevin Creel; her grandson, Traye Rutledge; brothers, Jimmy and Sonny Long; and her parents, Elsie and Ellie Long.
She is survived by her loving and faithful husband of 55 years, Howard Creel; and her daughter, Kimberly Creel Rutledge; grandchildren, Konner Creel, Keaton Creel, Alise Creel and Trayce Rutledge; sister, Gloria Long; brothers, Benny Long and his wife, Brenda and Roger Ballard and his wife, Regina and Johnny Ballard and his wife, Phyllis; her daughter-in-law, Dustie Creel; and many other loving family members and friends.
Faye was born in Ackerman, Mississippi and passed away in Flowood, Mississippi surrounded by her family. Faye was a Sunday school teacher in the junior’s class for many years in both West Monroe and Jackson and a faithful member of her faith. She thoroughly enjoyed attending church and singing in the choir until she was unable. Faye and Howard met and married in church and established a family in West Monroe where they were faithful members of The Pentecostals of the Twin Cities and had recently retired to their home state of Mississippi. Faye was an avid reader and intelligent woman who attended Louisiana Tech University in Psychology. She also completed the Dale Carnegie Course in Public Speaking and received the highest achievement award in that course. She was a master cook and loved cooking for her family and the holiday seasons were her favorite. Cooking candy and goodies for anyone that wanted them was a delight for her.
Honoring Faye as pallbearers are Konner Creel, Keaton Creel, Chad Creel, Brad Creel, Cooper Cottrell and Bret Robertson.
Memorials honoring Faye may be sent to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
