Graveside services for Evelyn Miller, 85, will be at 10:00 A.M., Friday, October 25, 2024, at Mulhearn Memorial Park, Monroe, Louisiana. Rev. Ottis Lenoir will officiate. Services will be under the care and direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Homes, West Monroe.
Evelyn Stadter Miller, beloved mother, grandmother, and dedicated educator, passed away peacefully and joined her Lord and Savior on October 21, 2024. Born on December 3, 1938, in Ordway, Colorado, she was a proud graduate of Neville High School. Evelyn furthered her education at NLU in Monroe, Louisiana, earning a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education. She devoted many years to teaching in the Ouachita Parish school system, where she was known for her unwavering commitment to her students. Even after her retirement, she continued to inspire young minds as a substitute teacher, embodying her lifelong passion for education. Evelyn was a devoted mother and wife, with her children’s well-being as her top priority. She was a member of Christ Church, where she found joy and strength in her faith in Jesus. In her spare time, she loved reading and cherished her connection to animals. Evelyn was preceded in death by her late husband, Floyd Miller; her parents, Cecil and Margery Stadter, and her brothers; Rick, George, and Doug Stadter.
Evelyn is survived by her sons, Keith Telano and Kevin Telano, and his wife, Dana Telano. She took immense joy in her four grandchildren; Jacob (and wife, Auburn), Kayla, Tori, and Ethan, who always brought a smile to her face.
Evelyn’s legacy of love and dedication will live on in the hearts of her family and all who were fortunate to know her. She will be deeply missed.
Special thanks to Landmark Nursing Home staff and Allegiance Hospice staff for their care for Ms. Miller.
