A sweet lady. I enjoyed working with her at Sandel Library and the new University Library for over 20 years. I enjoyed her stories of Ellen & Jackie as they grew up. She loved her job as a librarian. My condolences to Ellen, Jackie, & your families.

Dear Mary Ellen and Jackie and families,I am so sorry for your loss. I have always remembered your parents, Aunt Emily and Uncle Bill, with kindness. Though I was young while visiting, they were always welcoming, considerate, and hospitable to me. I will keep all of you in my prayers and I hope you find peace knowing that you did a wonderful job taking care of them just as they took care of you. My sincere condolences to all of you.

To Jackie and Ellen: My heart is so very sad to hear about your mom. I'm not sure if I ever told you how much I loved your mom and dad! They honestly took care of me growing up. Without them I'm not sure what would have happened to me many times. I came there to escape from a volatile situation with so much you never even knew about. They fed me almost every meal on a daily basis and I would have gone hungry without their kindness and concern as there was no food at my house and my Dad was always working and no idea most times where my mom was. They accepted me and treated me as their own and so often i am reminded of what amazing people they both were. You girls were truly blessed to have such great parents. I loved them both and now as an adult i respect them so much for basically taking me in and taking care of me which had to really be hard both emotionally and financially to always have another child there to take care of. In addition to that i know today that i truly was a BRAT growing up so it couldn't have been easy but they always, always treated me with kindness and love. My heart is so heavy and i want you to know that you are in my thoughts and prayers at this time and if there is anything at all i can do for you or the family please please let me know!!!
Peace of mind is a call away. We're here when you need us most.

I wish to extend my condolences to your family on the loss of your loved one Emily. I know firsthand how truly difficult it is to lose a loved one. Our Heavenly Father gives us promises in His word the Bible that can help us with our sorrow. One promise is that soon death will end forever (Isaiah 25:8) and another promise is that we can be reunited with our loved ones because Acts 24:15 says that “there will be a resurrection”. I pray these promises from God “who cannot lie” (Titus 1:2) bring you comfort.
