Funeral services for Mrs. Elsie Faye Davis are at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, August 2, 2011 in the Chapel of the Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe with Dr. Dennis Hensley, Jr. officiating. Interment follows at Hasley Cemetery, West Monroe, LA. Mrs. Davis was born on November 17, 1927 and went home to her “Sweet Jesus, Sweet Jesus, Sweet Jesus,” on July 30, 2011. She loved her Lord Jesus Christ and was ready to go home and join her parents, brothers, and sister. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Dooley Davis and granddaughter, Ashley Davis. Mrs. Davis loved life and her family, and was considered the life of the party. She enjoyed singing, playing the piano, and crossword puzzles. Mrs. Davis was a dedicated employee of 40 years to A&P and a charter member of the Edgewood Baptist Church. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Mrs. Davis is survived by her only child Terry Davis and wife Penny; granddaughter, Melissa Croft and husband Dean and daughters, Ashten and Anberlyn; grandsons, Christopher Davis and wife Tammy and son Caleb; Rusty Davis and wife Kristen and children, Abigail, Kahlyn and Colt; niece, Kathy Lindow and husband Dan, nephew, Frankie Dopson; a great niece, Kasey Fisher and husband Allen, and son Noah, great nephew, Kyle Lindow and wife Kiley and a host of cousins and friends. Pallbearers are Christopher Davis, Rusty Davis, Frankie Dopson, Dan Lindow, Allen Fisher and Jamie Batten. The family would like to thank Glenwood Hospital for their care during her short stay and Landmark Nursing Home for their four years of care.
