Elma Ruth Bryan Phillips

Graveside services for Elma Ruth Bryan Phillips will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, January 5, 2023 at Downsville Cemetery, Downsville, Louisiana. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:00 P.M. until 1:30 P.M. at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe, Louisiana.

Ruth was born on August 24, 1934 and passed away on January 1, 2023 in Monroe. She is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Donald Ray Phillips, Sr., and her parents, Elijah Betts Bryan and Mary Ammon Bryan; siblings, Elvis, Irvin, Eddie, Vestor, Virgil, and Max Bryan, and Julia B. Alford, Mary B. Massart, and Judy B. Martin.

Ruth is survived by her sons, Donald R. Phillips, Jr. and his wife Eva of Prairieville, Louisiana, and Steven W. Phillips and his wife Deanna of Norfolk, Virginia; grandchildren, Steven, Michelle, and James Phillips, Christina P. Montazeri, and Elizabeth Phillips; and great-grandchildren, Wesley Phillips, Preston and Myra Montazeri, and Clarissa and Vanessa Phillips. She is also survived by her brother, Rev. Jesse D. Bryan (Beverly); sisters, Faye B. Roy Lanier (Rev. Larry) and Ola Mae B. McGee Wallace; sister-in-law, Elvie Lee P. Bedsole; and many other cherished family and friends.
