Always sweet & caring.
Brandon Thurman left a message on June 11, 2017:
I was privileged enough to be one of the many second graders to be taught by Mrs. Franklin. In retrospect she didn't treat us like just students, it was more like she was teaching a room full of her grandchildren, that is the only way to describe her equanimity, love, and devotion to her students. She will truly be missed.
Deidre Thurman Grant left a message on June 9, 2017:
I was not only blessed to have Mrs. Franklin as my 2nd grade teacher but, many years later she was my son's Brandon teacher as well. So, she has always held a special place in my family's heart and impacted so many of her students. I always enjoyed seeing her around Ruston, because she always greeted me with a kiss on the cheek and had some type of encouraging words to say to me. Though we know heaven has welcomed a very special person, our hearts still feel the sorrow. May the love of God surround you, the Franklin family, in the days ahead.

She was a great lady with a hug heart who welcomed Paul and I into her home like we were family and we felt like family. This wonderful woman will be missed.

She's in the sun, the wind, the rain, she's in the air you breathe with every breath you take. She sings a song of hope and cheer, there is no more pain, no more fear. You'll see her in the clouds above, hear her whisper words of love. You'll be together before long, until then just listen for her song. It's the little things that you will remember like her smile and her laughter, the way she had of doing things. It will be these memories the will help you push the pain away and bring that smile to your face! Yes Mrs. Edna you left a fine legacy one that your children, grandchildren and their children will carry with them all the days of their life! To the Franklin Family my deepest sympathy and prayers for comfort and peace to carry you through this difficult time! Love you all!
