Edna is the last child of 10 born into the union of Monroe and Annie Bearden, on July 21, 1931, and she passed away on September 28, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents Monroe and Annie Bearden; husband Herbert Antley; siblings Orell Patrick, Sildry Mae Manuel, Lucille Kennedy, Mattie Lee Lindsay, Wildena Rendall, Oscar Bearden, Arb Bearden, Fuller Bearden, and Bobby Ray Bearden. Above all, Edna Faye led a life dedicated to her family and God. She loved her family fiercely. Her family by relation and all her extended family she adopted along the way. Edna was a strong woman. She grew up on a farm in Downsville and knew how to make a lot out of a little. She had four children of her own and always provided for them in all aspects of life with love to go around for them all. She was very proud of her career accomplishments, including retiring from Howard Brothers. She spent her retired years caring for elderly community members and tending to her award-winning garden. Edna was very active in her church, Emmanuel Baptist Church, and also with her extended church family at St. Marks Methodist Church. There is not much Edna enjoyed more than a family gathering. She found many of reasons to throw a good fish fry to bring everyone together. She never waited for December to celebrate her favorite holiday. It was Christmas year-round at her house and she carried that holiday cheer with her always. She had a distinct eye to find the beauty in all things. With that beauty was humor. She could find something to make her smile in any situation. That is a life lesson her family will take with them. Her positive disposition served her a long life well lived.
