Funeral services for Mrs. Edith Mae Ates Akin, 65, of Bernice, LA will be held on Saturday, at 2:00 p.m., April 17, 2021 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Farmerville, LA. A visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to service time. Officiating the service will be Bro. Danny Dallilo. Interment will follow in Bernice City Cemetery in Bernice, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Farmerville.

Edith was born on January 1, 1956 passed away on April 12, 2021 in Ruston, LA. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Fannie Hutto  Ates, brothers, James Calvin Ates, John Oliver Ates, and Steve Randall Ates, sisters, Carolyn Ates, Betty Primm, and Linda Dodge.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Dennis Akin of 34 years; sisters, Dorothy Mercer (Tommy); Darlene Smith (Mike); Charlene Evans (Billy Joe); brothers, Charles Ates (Doris); Edward Ates (Ann); Roy Ates, Wayne Ates (Leisa); and sister-in-law, Carline Ford.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Ates, Rusty Garner, Allen Ates, James Shirley, C.W. Ates, John Paul Primm, Jay Smith, and Justin Cummings.

Honorary Pallbearers will be nephews, and great nephews.
