Funeral services for Ed Wayne Kirby will be held at 12:00 PM, Saturday, January 14, 2017 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Rev. Johnny Parker and Rev. Art Beebe will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. Union Cemetery, Spearsville, LA. Visitation will be held Friday, January 13, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.Wayne was born in June 18, 1945 in Pascagoula, MS and passed away January 10, 2017 in West Monroe, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents; Edgar and Edith Kirby and a daughter, Brandi Michelle Kirby. Wayne was always known as a kind-spirited man with a soft soul. His world revolved around his family and was fulfilled by his God-given gift to serve the youth. He was a father of two, but a father-figure to many. He was a thankful and thoughtful man with a quiet sense of humor that was sure to leave a smile on your face. His faith never waivered and he stood strong in his faith daily. His memory will live on the years to come. And, although he is in a better place, he will be missed dearly by those who knew and loved him.Wayne is survived by his wife Peggy Kirby; son, David Kirby and wife Judy; grandchildren Ashley Kirby Jones and husband Josh, Paige Kirby Black and husband Chad; 5 great-grandchildren; sisters Theresa Willis and husband Bobby, and Debbie White and husband Carl.Wayne and his wife, Peggy, have been foster parents for over 30 years, providing a home to more than 100 teenage girls. He was a salesman for Standard Coffee for almost 20 years.
