Mr. Ryland was a favorite teacher of mine!! I so enjoyed his American History class at Ruston High. His name was just listed in the "In Memoriam " section of the LA Retired Teacher's Association publication. I'm very sorry for your loss. He was loved and respected.

As a 1964 RHS graduate, I was in at least one class taught by Mr. Ryland. It was clear that he loved to teach and had a knack for instilling respect for and love of America and its rich history. He "ran a tight ship" (a good thing), but, in turn showed respect for us as students and really cared about us as learners. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Truly sorry for the loss of your father. Mr. Ryland was the teacher that sparked my interest in American history while in high school and even today. My prayers are with you.

I’m sorry to hear of your father’s passing. I’ve had some experience with thisrecently, and I know it hurts. I guess – the only thing that makes me feelbetter in these times is that I have finally come to realize that - it’s not up tous - when God decides to take, and that weI should be happy. But we are allselfish this way. I’m working on it – to try to be unselfish.  It still hurtsthough. I’m praying for you.
