Funeral services for Earl F. Lingle, 88 of Monroe, will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at Parkview Baptist Church. Dr. Lee McGlone will officiate and interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park in Monroe under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home ~ Monroe. Visitation will be from 9:30 A.M. until 11:00 A.M at the church before the service.
Earl passed peacefully from this life on June 12, 2021 at the age of 88 in his home in Monroe, LA. He was born on September 1, 1932 in Monroe, LA to the late Earl F. Lingle and Thelma Lingle. Earl graduated from Fair Park High School in Shreveport and earned his Bachelor’s degree from Louisiana Tech in 1955. He served in the Louisiana National Guard for 3 years during college. After college he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, where he served for 4 years. Earl then began a long and successful career in banking that would span 55 years. He was President and Vice President of several financial institutions. He also served on the Federal Home Loan Bank Board for 4 years. Earl was extremely active in community affairs. He served on many Boards of Directors – too many to list individually. Some of note include: the YMCA of Monroe, the Monroe Area Guidance Center, the Monroe Symphony Orchestra, and many more. He was a loyal and distinguished Rotarian, serving the Monroe Rotary Club as President, and later serving Rotary District 6190 as District Governor. Earl received both the Distinguished Service Award and the Rotary International Service Above Self Award. He was a beloved husband, father, and Peepaw. He was also an avid fan of Neville Football for over 50 years. But most of all, Earl loved serving God, acting as both Deacon and Chairman of the Finance Committee for several years at Parkview Baptist Church.
Earl is survived by his loving wife, Jane; three children, Jim Lingle (Leslie), Beverly Wischnewsky, and son Mark Lingle (Katy); niece, Susan Berry. He was so proud of his 4 precious grandchildren: Katy Lingle Jordan (Kaleb), Payton Lingle Brown (Hutton), Sarah Kathryn Lingle and Matthew Lingle; many other cherished family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Tim Harvey, Matthew Lingle, Pat Riley, Dr. Sidney Seegers, Steve Serna, and Sonny Smith.
