I am so thankful to have been befriended by Paul Hale in the fall of 2009. I count Paul as mentor and friend. I recall Paul dropping by my office in Bogard Hall at LA Tech and introducing himself. I recall monthly trips carpooling with him over several years to places like LES Monroe chapter meetings, quarterly LAPELS Board meetings in Baton Rouge, annual JESC Conferences in Lafayette, a multi-day/trip LAPELS hearing, etc. That's a lot of windshield time with a lot of time for conversation. We also participated in annual NCEES and Southern Zone meetings together with other LAPELS Board members. We broke bread together countless times. I'm like so many people with whom Paul had a positive impact. Again, I am grateful. Continued prayers for strength and comfort for family, friends, and acquaintances. With love, Jeff Pike

As the administrator in the Industrial Engineering department at Louisiana Tech, I worked with Dr. Hale only briefly, but I always enjoyed my interactions with him. He was quick-witted and funny, kind and sincere, and understood how to work computers better than most octogenarians I know. Even though I had not personally seen him in several years, it was nice to know he was still around. I appreciate working with him as his admin for a short while, and I hope his family can take comfort in knowing he was appreciated by this admin.

I am proud to have known and worked with Dr. Paul Hale for over 35 years at Louisiana Tech. He served the engineering profession at the local, state, and national level and was an outstanding example to many students, faculty, and staff. He was a humble man. As an administrator and faculty member, he treated everyone with kindness and respect. It was an honor to have worked with you, Dr. Hale. Condolences to Mrs. Francis, Tammy, Eric and your family.
