I would like to express my deepest condolences to the family of Dr. Lutes. I regret not knowing about his passing. Dr. Lutes was my adviser while I was a wildlife major at La. Tech and I had many courses uder him. He was an excellent teacher. Sincerely, Eddie Grafton
Ray Linder left a message on January 27, 2022:
As a Wildlife Conservation and Management major at LA TECH from 1968-1972, Dr. Lutes was my favorite professor. He was the best teacher/instructor I encountered at Tech. He covered material clearly and concisely. There was never any question about material that could be on a test. Only information he discussed in class was subject to testing at any moment during the quarter. He was also my advisor and led me toward beneficial courses, helped me obtain a summer job related to wildlife management, encouraged me, and advised me to seek a graduate degree. My sympathy is extended to his family. He will always be one of the greatest persons I have known.

I am so sorry for the loss of your father and am praying for your family. Our father was from Piedmont also and they were friends. All of my sisters fondly remember the Lutes' visits to Piedmont and enjoyed our times together. Cherish the wonderful memories forever.

My grandmother Etta Walker always spoke fondly of Dr. and Mrs. Lutes. I believe she babysat for them in the 1960s or 70s. Our heartfelt sympathy to the Lutes family.
