Funeral services for Dorris T. Buddy Harper 81 of West Monroe will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, March 23, 2012 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Pastor Jim Shook will be officiating. Interment will follow at Hasley Cemetery West Monroe under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Buddy was born November 18, 1930 and went to be with Jesus on March 21, 2012. He was preceded in death by his son, Tommy Harper. Buddy was a veteran of the Korean War and retired from Manville as a supervisor. He was also a charter member and deacon of Hyde Park Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Jackie McDaniel Harper, son, Vernon Harper, three grandsons, Taylor Harper, Jared Harper, and Chadd Harper; sisters-in-law, Sue Tolbird and husband Travis, Laura Sanders and husband Billy, brother-in-law, Vernon Duffey; sisters, Lena Robertson and Claudette Palmer; brother, Don Harper and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Taylor, Jared, and Chadd Harper, Josh McGuffee, Garrett Gooden and Brian Netherland. Visitation will be held Thursday March 22, 2012 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe, LA.
