I began my long teaching career in Delhi in 1967 as a twenty year old just out of college. I shudder to think what would have happened to me and those students had it not been for Harriet Richards and Dorothy Goldsby Burson! They were my role models, my advice givers, my friends, as well as my co-workers! That was a wonderful year for me. Dorothy was a wonderful teacher, as well as mother and friend. I am forever grateful for the time I worked with her and for what she taught me. I haven't seen her in many many years, but still think of her often. I have shared stories about that first year of teaching many times in many places. I regret that I have lost touch with Dorothy and did not know she had been ill. To her family: My thoughts and prayers are with you all. You have been left a wonderful legacy from a fine lady! I know your wonderful memories will give you peace, comfort, and joy in the days to come.
