Dorothy Moore Spillers was born February 21, 1928 to Rev. Charlie and Clara Moore in Ball, Louisiana. She went to her heavenly home December 11, 2020 at the age of 92. Dorothy was an office manager at Peoples Homestead in West Monroe, LA for numerous years. She and her husband were faithful in attending church and Sunday School at Ridge Avenue Baptist Church for many years. After her husband’s death, she started attending church and Sunday School at McClendon Baptist Church until her death. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Boyd L. Spillers of West Monroe, LA, her parents, Rev. Charlie and Clara Moore of West Monroe, LA; brother Charles Moore of Bastrop, LA; her aunt Irene St. Clergy of West Monroe, LA; and daughter Patricia Spillers Williams of Calhoun, LA.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter Carolyn Faye Newman of White Oak, TX; sister Mary Moore Lane (husband Martin) of Jasper, TX; son-in-law Alton Williams of Calhoun, LA; granddaughter Cherie Robertson (husband Rick) of Broad Run, VA; grandsons Rick Williams (wife Heather) of Bentonville, AR and Christopher Newman of White Oak, TX; 8 great grandchildren: Will, Mae and Boyd of Bentonville, AR, Caroline, Conner and Caleb of Broad Run, VA, Christian and Caleigh Newman of White Oak, TX, 2 step great-grandchildren Christina Ladner (husband J.P.) of Woodbridge, VA; Corey Robertson (wife Joanna) of Tampa, FL; numerous great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
