Funeral services for Dorothy Mae Howard, of Downsville, LA., will be Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at Pleasant Valley Assembly of God Church with Pastor Norman Riordan officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Dorothy was born on September 23, 1928 in Calhoun, LA and passed away on April 29, 2017 in West Monroe, LA. Dorothy was a life-long member of Pleasant Valley Assembly of God Church in Downsville, LA. Retired after 17 years as Cafeteria Manager at Barkdull Faulk School in Monroe, LA, Dorothy loved flowers, cooking, and spending time with her great-granddaughters. Mrs. Howard is preceded in death by her parents, C.L. and Della Lou Jordan; husband, Doyle Howard; brothers, C.L. Jr., Arthur, J.W., Stanley and Ira Lee; and sisters, Vera and Edna.Mrs. Howard is survived by her sisters; Sylvia Myers and husband Brinkley, Brenda Wheat and husband, John, and Audrey Payton; son, Jackie Howard and wife Colleen; grandson, Brad Howard and wife Miranda; granddaughter, Brandi Howard; great-granddaughters, Dakota, Leia, Jaida, Lanie, and Lexi; a host of nieces and nephews and her beloved dog, Meme.Visitation will be held Monday, May 1, 2017, from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Pleasant Valley Assembly of God Church under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe.Pallbearers will be Ricky Thomas, Randy Manshack, Lee Riordan, Caleb Riordan, Dr. Bill Beebe, and Eddie Jordan.
