Funeral services for Doris L McNeil will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 31, 2018 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Rev. Jim Wolfe and Rev. Calton Yeager will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Kilpatrick Serenity Gardens under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.Doris was born June 17, 1922 in Downsville, LA and passed away January 26, 2018 in West Monroe, LA. She was preceded in death by her son, John McNeil, Jr. and numerous brothers and sisters. She was a retired LPN and loved flowers and needlework.Doris is survived by her three children Beverly Martin, Travis McNeil and wife Linda, Fredna McBride and husband Bob. Her six grandchildren Angela Martin, Trey Martin, Norman McNeil, Minette Eubanks, Ami Coates and Melissa Newkirk. She also had seven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and host of other family.Pallbearers will be Kenneth Coates, Trey Martin, Kasey Barkley, and Ronnie Ritter.Visitation will be Tuesday, January 30, 2018 5:00 to 7:00 PM Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.

Psalms 90:10 says “Seventy is the sum of our years, or eighty, if we are strong.” Ms. McNeil’s strength lasted 95 years! Yet that does not compare to eternal life promised at John 3:16. God gave Jesus the authority to heal the sick and power to raise the dead. Jesus will bring back to life those who sleep in death just as he did for his friend Lazarus. (Luke 5:12, 13; John 11:39-44) Millions will be raised from death, providing them with a prospect to live forever. Then envision the reunions as loved ones, who were kept apart by death, hold one another again. My deepest sympathy to the McNeil family.
