Doris Mansfield Gray Beers entered this world on June 8, 1928, in West Chester, Pennsylvania, and entered heaven on July 29, 2018, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Affectionately known to her grandchildren and many friends as Mom Mom, she had recently celebrated her ninetieth birthday surrounded by family and friends.Doris was a loving sister, wife, and mother. After a happy childhood in Newark, Delaware, she married her high school sweetheart, Harry Kenneth Beers, and they lived in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Ohio, Florida, and Louisiana.She spent the final few years of her life close to her children in Colorado. A diligent and able worker, throughout the course of her life she was successful professionally as a secretary, hospital admissions clerk, and hearing aid specialist. Her favorite job was being a loving grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a faithful fan of all her grandchildren activities and was faithful in prayer for all of their needs. A lifelong Presbyterian, she was a member of Covenant Presbyterian, Monroe, Louisiana, at the time of her death.She was preceded in death by Harry Kenneth Beers, her husband of fifty-nine years; her parents, Clarence Barr Gray and Mary Hall Gray; and three of her siblings, Clarence Gray, Jr., Mildred Gray Hill, and Richard Gray.She is survived by her three children, Robin Beers Gorab (Tom) of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Bruce Kenneth Beers (Sandra) also of Colorado Springs; and Kim Beers Alexander (Billy) of Calhoun, Louisiana.She will be missed by her twelve grandchildren:Brandon Edmund Gorab (Jill); Matthew Kenneth Gorab (Aiva);Christina Gorab Bridges (Philip); Nathan Bruce Beers (Elizabeth); Amy Beers Best (Joshua); Justin Beers; Hannah Alexander Ladehoff (Chris); Leigh Beth Alexander van Eyk (Arie); Mary Lynn Alexander Myers (James); Clay Alexander (Melissa);Ian Kenneth Alexander; and Aaron Alexander. She will also be missed both in memory and in story by her seventeen (soon to be eighteen) great-grandchildren. Dorisis also survived by five of her nine siblings: A. Samuel Gray (Jenny); Mary Jane Wollaston; Lowell Gray (Jean); Louise Gray Rash (Dallas); and Dorothy Gray Frett (Cal);and by sister-in-law Patricia Gray,as well as many loving nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 4, 2018, at Covenant Presbyterian Church, Monroe, Louisiana.Condolences may be expressed to the family following the services in the Fireside Room of the church.In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Harry K.
