Mary & Larry Mitchell left a message on March 14, 2025:
We all knew Sister Donna in different roles…friend, wife, mother, sister, grandmother, encourager and prayer warrior…but we all knew and were blessed by her authentic faith. Most of us have also been blessed to eat at her table and partake of her delicious meals. She was an amazing cook and took great joy in preparing food for others. She had a servant’s heart and generously welcomed people into her home for so many occasions. She loved and prayed from that heart… Even though her life had many challenges, especially physically, she never wavered in her faith and knew God would always come through… We all have our favorite Donna moments. I met Sister Donna at a revival service at Bethel Assembly of God Church in 1972. We became life long prayer partners and friends. She became like a mother figure and prayed with me, and for me, through many difficult days of my life. I will truly miss her… but Praise God, I find much comfort and joy in knowing that we have a great reunion ahead of us… I can only imagine what she is doing and seeing at this moment…I know she ran into the arms of Jesus upon her entry to Heaven! Beholding the face of her Savior, whom she loved and faithfully served all her life, He took her face in His hands and wiped the tears from her eyes as she heard Him say… “Well done Donna, thou good and faithful servant. Enter into the joys I have prepared for you.” I’m sure He held her close as all pain and suffering was erased from her body forever more… and then she was embraced and welcomed by family, friends and a myriad of heavenly hosts. Oh hallelujah! The glory and joy of it all! So as we celebrate for Sister Donna…we also mourn the loss of a godly influence in our lives, our church and the world. I thank God for Sister Donna and her legacy, and pray that God comforts Brother Wayne, and their family during this time. Larry and I love you dearly. Until we sit at the feet of Jesus together, I shall miss you my friend 🙏💞
