Funeral services for Donald Edwin Albrecht, 78, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston. Pastor Ray Raney will officiate. This gathering will include a visitation from 1:00 to 2:00 pm prior to the memorial for the life of Don Albrecht.

Don was born on March 30, 1947, and passed away on April 16, 2025, in Shreveport. Don enlisted in the U.S. Navy after school. He served in the Vietnam War before returning home. Shortly after college, Don started working in the field of safety.  Don continued this career in New York and Illinois and landed permanently in Louisiana. Don has also served in the fire services between New York and Louisiana for the past 36 years. Here he earned the ranks of firefighter, captain, and district chief. Last but not least, Don enjoyed 15 years with the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office, where he served as a reserve deputy under Sheriff Mike Stone.

Don is preceded in death by his parents, Edwin Daniel Albrecht and Marion Von Essen Albrecht.

Don leaves behind his brother, Doug Albrecht; four children, Debra Mosca and her husband, Mike Mosca; Scott Albrecht; Daniel Albrecht and his wife, Baye Albrecht; and daughter Lauren Nutt; grandchildren Adrianna Mosca, McKenna Albrecht, Mason Nutt, Hayden Nutt, and Harper Cohenour
