Funeral services for Don C. Antley will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Providence Baptist Church with Rev. James Tarrence officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Monday, May 28, 2018, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in West Monroe. Interment will follow at Acree Cemetery in Point, LA.Don Antley, 76, of Point, LA was born January 5, 1942 and passed away on May 26, 2018. He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty years, Carol Turnipseed Antley.Don Antley always said he “was born on this red hill and he'd die on this red hill in Point, Louisiana” and he was true to his word. On Saturday, May 26th, Don passed away peacefully at home after a lengthy illness. He loved his community and his home. Not only was he a true servant of our Lord, but a dedicated, capable, and selfless father, friend, deacon and community leader. Don graduated from Downsville High School and Northeast Louisiana State College. Don and his wife, Carol, owned the Point Community store for over two decades and helped start the Point-Wilhite Ward 5 Fire Department. Later in life he and Carol established an insurance financing business, and he worked up until the last few weeks of his illness.Anyone who knew Don knows that he always had a smile on his face and didn't have a bad word to say about anyone. His sunny disposition was a true reflection of his Christian faith and his love of life. He will be missed by many, but his love and positive contributions will be felt for years to come.Don is survived by his daughter, Jo Ellen Cranford and husband Mark of West Monroe, LA; son, Michael Antley of Seattle, WA; grandchildren, Colton Cranford and wife Anne of Baton Rouge, LA, and Luke Cranford of West Monroe, LA; and a host of loving cousins.Pallbearers will be Keith Antley, Donnie Kennedy, Barry Huckabay, Michael Wallace, Eric Littleton, and Gene Abbey. I grew up in point around Mr. Don and his family. He had the most gentle soul, and always had a smile for you!! I remember when he had point store, and would let me and my cousins hang out there, and he would always give us something free. Them def were old times, but the best... To all of the family So sorry for your loss, my heart and thoughts go out to you all...

His smile and friendly greeting told you everything about him. I know he will be missed.

Don truly was a great man who was loved and cherished by all that knew him. I am so sorry to hear of his passing but we know where he is and that he is no longer suffering. His legacy of love for and contributions to his community will be remembered for years to come.

Don was a light to all who encountered him. It was a true privilege to call him friend. My condolences to his family and my assurances of prayers. Well done, good and faithful servant.
