Funeral services for Dolores “Dojo” Blackwell, 80, will be at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Kilpatrick Funeral Homes in West Monroe, Louisiana.  Bro. Warren Pourciau will officiate.  Interment will follow at St. Paschal Catholic Cemetery in West Monroe, Louisiana, under the care and direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Homes, West Monroe.  Visitation will be prior to service from 9:30 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in West Monroe.

Dolores was born on November 22, 1943, in Norfolk, Virginia, and passed away on August 11, 2024, in Monroe, Louisiana.  She retired after 37 years with International Paper, serving the Bastrop and Texarkana paper mills.  Dolores was one that never met a stranger.  She was always on the go and loved going to auctions, estates sales, and playing cards.  Dolores could always find that good deal, and help you find one too.  She was preceded in death by her husband, W.C. Blackwell; parents, Joe and Leona Fredieu; and sister, Kay Myers.

Dolores was survived by her daughter, Amie Cherie Phillips; son, Adam Blackwell; grandchildren, Joseph Savage, Heather Savage, Tyler Blackwell, Anden Blackwell and Daxton Blackwell; brother, Anthony Fredieu and wife Joanie; several nieces and nephews; a multitude of cousins, and her canine companion, Elsa.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Hutson, Jamie Hutson, Cole Bishop, Jonathan Pettis, Kendall Cooper, and Ben Green.

Memorials may be made to the Ouachita Parish Animal Shelter, St Jude Children’s Hospital or one of donor’s choosing.
