Diane Aloysia Doherty Young of Monroe, LA returned home November 26, 2006 at the age 55. Diane, the daughter of Daniel Wallace Doherty of Jennings, LA, is preceded in death by her mother, Marion Guidry Doherty. A most loving and dedicated mother, Diane is survived by her six children, Elizabeth Ann Young, Elijah Orum Young III, his wife Breanna Prophit Young, Rachel Diane Young Jones and her husband, Rushton Jones, Elijah Jesse Young II, Marion Aloysia Young and Sarah Katherine Young, along with her eternal companion E. Orum Young Jun; father: Daniel Wallace Doherty; four grandchildren, Ren©e Young, Hunter Jones, Elijah Orum Young IV and Porter Elijah Jones will carry on their grandmother's memory. Daniel Doherty, M.D., George Doherty and Dr. and Mrs. Gerald Broussard will also cherish memories of their dearly loved sister. An eternally musical soul, Diane embraced the full potential of life and blessed all those around her with angelic song and infectious laughter. The world was her oyster and she viewed it beautifully from the deck of a cruise ship surrounded by those she loved most. A beloved beacon in the Monroe community and a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Diane will be missed by the countless souls she touched and those immeasurably better for having known her. She served faithfully in the church as ward Relief Society President, Young Women's President, Primary President and temple worker. Those who knew Diane may attend Kilpatrick Funeral Home on 1200 Lamy Lane, Monroe, LA, Thursday, November 30 from 7:00PM to 9:00PM. The funeral service will be conducted at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on 909 N. 33rd Street Friday, December 1, at 2:00PM, with burial to follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park.
