Funeral services for Devon Lewis Sr., 89, of West Monroe will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, February 13, 2020 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park. Rev. Steve Hillman and Pastor Zale Lewis will officiate. Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 12, 2020 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.

Devon was born March 8, 1930 in Pioneer, LA to his parents, Joseph Franklin and Ida Harper Lewis as one of twelve. He was preceded in death by his parents; Joseph Franklin Lewis and Ida Harper Lewis; sisters; Willie Caviness, Lois Peek, Edith Fowler, Glennie Long and Barbara Morgan; brothers, Quitman Lewis, O.Z. Lewis, Arnold Lewis and Bobby Lewis. He graduated from Pioneer High School in 1947 and completed business school in Jackson, MS in 1948. Devon retired from Georgia Pacific Plant 60, West Monroe, in 1987 after 30 plus years of service. Devon loved gardening, raising horses and cattle, fishing, hunting, and traveling. He provided loving care of his wife Stella of 58 years.

Devon is survived by son, Devon Lewis, Jr. and wife Renee; son, Jeff Lewis and wife Alida; granddaughter Shelly Haarala and husband Marc; grandson, Devon Lewis III and wife Mai; grandsons, Patrick Lewis, Benjamin Lewis, Jordan Lewis; granddaughters, Emily Lewis Svendson and husband Eric, Abigail Lewis and Isabel Lewis; great-granddaughters, Olivia Haarala, Emma Haarala, Madison Lewis, and Hannah Lewis; great-grandson, Hayden Haarala; sister, Mary Hillman of Epps, LA and a brother, Ernest Lewis and wife Helen of West Monroe.

Pallbearers will be Archie Evans, Patrick Lewis, Benjamin Lewis, Jordan Lewis, Devon Lewis III, and Walter Hillman.
