Funeral services for Derek Daniel Vickers, 33, of West Monroe will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, April 19, 2012 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Derek was a really good friend of mine in high school. Just recently saw him again for the first time in a while. He was still the same old "DV". Such a funny person. I'm so sad that his life was taken so quickly. He will be missed.

Derek...I don't even know where to begin. I have not allowed myself to cry over this horrible tragedy yet...due to me not wanting to accept it. Your obituary just got posted today...and for some reason it still has not sunk in. Derek...you know that you were the worlds biggest joker & prankster...so maybe in some surreal life that is what I am hoping is going on. YOU gave ME the BEST gift 4 years ago & I will be forever grateful to you for that. I will see you tonight. And even though you have left me a widow now...I am not happy about it. I love you SO much! all my Heart <3
