Denson was born and raised in Gilbert, Louisiana. He was one of nine children that helped to operate the family farm. He often spoke of picking cotton and milking cows before driving the family-owned school bus. He would park it and then go to class himself. He was very athletic and played football, basketball, and baseball. Denson was a member of FFA and sang in the school choir. He attended Northeast for a short time before returning home to care for sick parents and running the farm. He met the love of his life, Carolyn Ford Walters, on a blind date arranged by one of his sisters. Shortly thereafter, they married and enjoyed 64 years of joyful marriage living in West Monroe, Louisiana. Denson worked at Monroe Wholesale Drug before changing career paths. He sold vehicles for many dealerships in Northeast Louisiana including Rivers Ford, Scott-Hixson Ford, and Cooper Buick. He was always seeing someone around town and speaking of selling them a car. Denson had the privilege of pitching for a local semi-pro American Legion baseball team. He had a quick wit and was loved by all who met him. Denson was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was honored to be a Fifty Plus Year Mason from the Cadeville Lodge. Dad / Papaw loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved Jesus and wanted his family to follow the Lord and not be ashamed of His Gospel and enjoy life to its fullest.
