Funeral services for Dean Blythe McDuffie, Sr., 88, of West Monroe will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, September 13, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Family Church West Monroe with Pastor Michael ONeal and Pastor Michael Stravato officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Saturday, September 12, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.Dean was born October 17, 1926 in Monticello, AR and passed away September 10, 2015 in Shreveport, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sgt. J.B. and Edna Blythe McDuffie, and brother, J. Bryan McDuffie. He served in the United States Navy during World War II on the aircraft carrier Intrepid. He was a machine designer, manager and salesman in the paper industry at several southern paper mills. Dean was a long-time member and elder of Family Church, and had a heart for God and evangelism.Dean is survived by his wife, Rosalyn (Rosie) Howell McDuffie; children, Lynn Oakes (Keith), Blythe McDuffie (Kathy), Vivian McDuffie, Holly White (David); grandchildren, Anthony Ramsey (Valerie), Erica Davis (Brett), Sam McDuffie, Barnett McDuffie (Joanna), Keaton Ward, Connor Ward, James Hebert, April Hebert and Jared White; 8 great-grandchildren; brother, George McDuffie (Carol); sister, Connie Zintgraff.Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
