Funeral services for David E. Turner, 54, will be held at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in West Monroe, Louisiana. Mr. Urbano Anzaldua will officiate. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Calhoun, Louisiana, under the care and direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Homes, West Monroe. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M., Monday, August 26, 2024, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe.
David E. Turner was born on April 22, 1970, in Ruston, Louisiana and passed away on August 21, 2024, in West Monroe, Louisiana. David studied surgical technology and received an associates degree from Bossier Community College. He worked for Glenwood Regional Hospital as a surgical technologist and he was also a clinical instructor at McCann School of Business and Technology. David was a member of Restored Church of God and with God’s grace, fought a long hard battle for 6 years with liver cancer and chronic pain. He had a love for history, science, reading and was always eager to learn new things. David always was telling a funny joke to whoever would listen. He liked watching movies, fast cars, wrestling and was a huge Star Trek fan. But most of all David loved his family. David was preceded in death by his mother, Lida Marlene Johnson; father, Samuel Turner; grandparents, Mae Colvin Turner-Moon, Earl Condi Turner, Leslie Elzada Thurman Shirey, and Lonnie Everett Shirey; and nephew, Jayden Turner.
David is survived by his wife of 22 years, Margaret Turner; son, David Turner II; daughters, Lydia Turner, Kara Turner; sisters, Rose Dew and husband Tommy, Cindy Jones and husband Bobby, Linda Speights and husband Danny, Megan Dickens and husband Jordan; brother, Joe Turner; and step-dad, Palmer Johnson; along with other cherished family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Mike Avist, Scott Wells, Jason Flournoy, Sam Dew, Ricky Woods, Joshua Friedman, Robby Speights, Scott Wells, Larry McKormic, and Jeff Davis.
