DAVID BRAZZEL David Elton “Bunny” Brazzel, 84, passed away Monday, August 26, 2013 in Ruston, Louisiana from complications of Alzheimer's Disease He was born on March 7, 1929 in Dubach, Louisiana to Tom and Ethel Brazzel. David grew up in the community of Corinth, near Dubach, Louisiana. After graduating from Dubach High School, he joined the U.S. Army and was stationed in Japan during the Korean War. Following his military service, he began his career in the oilfield, ultimately working as a self-employed Drilling Consultant all over the United States, Central America and the Dominican Republic. At the age of 55, he retired form the oilfield and returned to the red clay hills of North Louisiana that he loved so much. He farmed trees and managed properties. David was married to Alice Hebert. On August 8th they celebrated 60 years of marriage. David was a long time member of Corinth Baptist Church. He loved being involved in the community and lending a helping hand. He enjoyed working, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. David was preceded in death by his parents Tom and Ethel Brazzel; his brothers Ivan, Melvin “Peter” and Thomas “Doodley” Brazzel; his Sisters Inez Hood and Louise “Dote” Johnson; his Brother-in-laws J.O. “Red” Willis, Sam Johnson and Leonard Hood; his sister-in-law Alice P. Brazzel; his son-in-law Allan Barnes Tracy; and his grandson Adam Baugh Vivian. David is survived by his spouse Alice of Ruston, LA; his son Allan Karen Brazzel of Clarksdale, MS; his daughters Vivian Terry Hinton of Ruston, LA; Tracy Barnes of Dubach, LA; Renee Daniel Branton of Ruston, LA; his grandchildren Allison Brazzel, Sarah Brazzel, Emily Brazzel, Matthew Brazzel, Holly Zach Cooksey, Mark Baugh, David Barnes, Daniel Barnes, Rebekah Barnes, Paige Plunkett, Carson Branton and Scarlett Branton, his great-grandsons Chandler Plunkett and Anderson Cooksey; his sister Merlene “Sis” Willis of Ruston, LA; his brothers George “Manboy” Jimmi Brazzel of Benton, LA and Rayburn “Bub” Brazzel Anne of Abilene, TX; Sister-in-laws Aline Brazzel and Wilma Brazzel; his loving nieces, nephews and numerous other relatives. Funeral services will be held on Thursday August 29, 2013 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel at Kilpatrick Funeral home, 209 N. Bonner Ruston, LA Burial will follow at Corinth Cemetry, Corinth Community. A visitation will be held at Kilpatrick Funeral home, from 5:00 pm to 8:00pm on Wednesday, August 28, 2013.
