Funeral services for Daniel Kelly Shandy will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, January 20, 2017 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Interment will follow at Kilpatrick Serenity Gardens . Pastor Daniel Goodman will officiate.Kelly was born July 23, 1929 in Pleasant Hill, LA and passed away January 15, 2017 in Monroe, LA. He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Margueritte; parents, Bain and Emma Shandy; granddaughter, Tina Marie Hill; brothers; Bain Shandy, Jr., Eddie Shandy and G.A. Shandy; sister, Mary Wooten. Kelly served seven years in the U S Navy and he was a heavy equipment operator in the construction industry. He was a wood craftsman and real handyman who would help anybody, anytime.Kelly is survived by his daughters; Pat Haley, Peggy Frith and husband Kenneth, Debra Bidleman and husband Eric; son, Richard Shandy and wife Barbara of Virginia Beach, VA; sister, Hester Insley; 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.Visitation will be held Friday, January 20, 2017 from 12:00 PM until service time at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.
