Cynthia Vascocu Daigle, a native of Minden, Louisiana, and longtime resident of the Shreveport-Bossier area, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2025, after a battle with complications from pneumonia. She was born on May 15, 1951, the daughter of Mann and Clarice Vascocu.
Cynthia is survived by her sons, Michael Mann Coston (Stacy) of Minden, and Jean-Paul Rene Daigle (Melissa) of Weatherford, Texas; granddaughters Olivia Coston and Dena Daigle; grandsons Anakin Daigle and Julius Daigle; brother Jerome Vascocu (Nancy), and numerous much-loved nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald Daigle, her daughter Amy Jane Coston, her parents Mann and Clarice Vascocu, and her sister Sundra Vascocu.
Cynthia treasured her family. Her loving and sweet spirit made her a wonderful mother, grandmother, and wife. She was a joy to be around and had a great sense of humor.
A gifted singer, she was named to “Who’s Who in Vocal Music” at Minden High School as a senior. A faithful member of the Teentone Choir at First Baptist Church in Minden, she cherished her experiences there, including a life-changing two-week mission/tour of Brazil. The choir beautifully delivered in song the Good News of Jesus to thousands of Brazilians in a variety of venues. Now she is a member of God’s Heavenly Choir for all eternity. As a young girl, Cynthia came to know Jesus as her Savior and Lord and was baptized at FBC Minden, Louisiana.
In her career, Cynthia worked as a telephone operator and a bank teller. She and her late husband Donald also formed and operated a health insurance consulting agency in Shreveport, Louisiana.
A visitation will take place at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston, LA on Friday, April 11 from 1:00-2:00 PM, followed by a Private Graveside Service at Kilpatrick Memorial Gardens at 2:30 PM under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Homes of Ruston, LA.
