Graveside services for Clyde A. Potts, age 93, of the Douglas Community, will be held Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at 2:00 P.M., at the Douglas Cemetery in Douglas, Louisiana. Jim Davis will officiate the services under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston.
Clyde was born in Bienville Parish, Louisiana, February 28, 1928, and passed away January 5, 2022, in Douglas, Louisiana. He was a United States Veteran having served in the Army Air Corps. He worked for Texaco, Inc. for 40 years and retired as a Refinery/Operations Manager. Clyde was an active member of the Ruston Church of Christ and had served for many years as an Elder in the Nederland Church of Christ in Nederland, TX. He was also active in youth sports as a coach and avid supporter of all of his children’s sports activities. Clyde was preceded in death by his wife, Nell Holstead Potts and a son, Jerry Potts. He was the primary care giver for Nell the last 15 years of her life.
He is survived by his son, Ron Potts and wife, Jennie of Wylie, Texas, and daughter, Dana Potts Norris and husband, Lynn of Choudrant, Louisiana; also, seven grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
Also, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Church of Christ Disaster Relief Fund in his name (disasterreliefeffort.org).
