Memorial services for Claude Allen Book will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at Fair Park Baptist Church, West Monroe. Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Rev. Waymond Warren will officiate under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.Claude was born October 16, 1936 and passed away November 16, 2019. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, and retired from Entergy (formerly LPL) after many years of service. Claude was a long-time member of Hilltop Hunting Club in Morehouse Parish. He was preceded in death by his mother, Winifred Sweeney of Bentley, Louisiana and a granddaughter, Stacey Gentry of West Monroe.Claude is survived by his wife of 38 years, Virginia (Ginger) Beaver Book; his children, Benjamin Book and wife Judy of West Monroe, Lisa Burgess Hollis and husband Steve of Marion, LA, Sandy Book Kendrick and husband David of West Monroe, Brian Burgess and wife Angela of Statesville, NC, Allen Burgess and wife Shannon of Van Buren, AR, Ginny Burgess of Camden, AR; 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his son-in-the-Lord, Bennie Chelette, daughter-in-the-Lord, Barbara Teer; his fishing brother, Mario Bradford, and a host of family and friends.The family wishes to extend a very loving thank you to Dr. Paul Murphy, and the rest of the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Affinity Urology Clinic.The family has given the gift of sight to others through donation of his corneas.
