Richard was a quiet man who was willing to help when someone was in need. It has probably 50 years since I have seen him but I remember him using his truck to move our family when I was a child.I remember making a sales call on a businessman in West Monroe when I happened to mention Bernice in the conversation. When I said Bernice, the gentleman stopped me and asked if I knew Richard Cavender and I told him I knew him well. I told him that Richard's uncle was my brother in law. From that point on I had gone from a stranger to a friend. He had nothing but kind words for Richard. Donny Spears
