Christopher Glyn Edmiston Kilpatrick Funeral Home Ruston, LA Funeral services for Christopher Glyn Edmiston, age 29, of Choudrant will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, August 16, 2013 at Douglas United Methodist Church in Douglas Community. Officiating the service will be Rev. Rolly Walker and Rev. Jeremy Jones. Interment will follow at Sibley Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston, LA. Christopher was born November 30, 1983 and passed away peacefully at his parent's home with his family by his side on August 13, 2013. Christopher was a devoted son and brother. He had a strong Christian faith as evidenced by the way he lived life even through the adversities he faced. He was a member of Alabama Presbyterian Church. Christopher graduated from Choudrant High School in 2002 and Louisiana Tech University in 2008. He worked for the Lincoln Parish School Board as a Social Studies Teacher and Coach at Choudrant High School. Christopher loved kids and coaching basketball. While at Choudrant High School, he was a member of the 2002 La State Champion Baseball team where he played first base. He was also a member of the National FFA organization and was on the 2000 State Champion Parliamentary Procedure Team. He had many friends and was a friend to everyone he met. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed traveling, golf, fishing, fantasy football and all sports in general. He also loved his dog Maggie who many say was the only one to get away without following “his instructions.” Chris was preceded in death by his grandfather, Joe Edmiston. Christopher is survived by his parents: Ricky and Lori Edmiston; brother and best friend: Cole Edmiston and wife Shannon; grandparents: Jimmy and Judy Williams; grandmother: Martha Edmiston; uncles: Stephen Williams and wife Laundi, Tim Edmiston all of Choudrant, LA, and Ronnie Edmiston of Stonewall, LA; cousins: Melissa Edmiston Reeves and husband Jason , Carrie Edmiston Keys and husband Kevin, Meghan Edmiston, Tyler Edmiston, Ben Edmiston, Jordan Williams, Cade Williams and Reagan Williams. Pallbearers will be Lee Brister, Corey Smith, Chad Webb, Stephen Williams, Jordan Williams, Tyler Edmiston and Cade Williams. Honorary Pallbearers will be Timmy Edmiston, Ben Edmiston, Eric Butt and Joey Bagwell. The family would like to thank Dr. Tom Brantley, Dr. David Osafo, special nurse and friend Kelly Medaries all of Green Clinic, Dr. Gazi Zibari at Willis Knighton Hospital, Fiest – Weiller Cancer Center, Dr. Shantan Reddy, Dr. Mitesh Borad and the staff at Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale and Phoenix AR., and nurses at Professional Hospice of Ruston; Kathy Spears, Jenifer Thomas and Margaret Archie. The family would also like to express thanks to everyone for all prayers, love and support throughout these past 5 years.
