Christopher Kevin “Chris” Forbito, age 61 of Monroe, LA was born June 24, 1961 in Monroe to Jimmie and William Forbito, and he passed away February 2, 2023 in Monroe surrounded by his family and loved ones. He graduated from St. Frederick High School in 1979. Chris’s favorite part of high school was playing on the football team. Soon after high school, he married the love of his life, Molly Whittle. Together, they had their son Ryan and began to grow their lives and their family. Chris started his career in the insurance business but quickly changed to working for Delta Airlines. He had a successful business where he made a lot of wonderful memories. Chris’s favorite pastime was spending weekends on the river with all of his siblings. He also enjoyed spending weekends playing volleyball and having cookouts with his friends. As Chris got older and life went on, he became an uncle. He bonded closely with his nephews Tony, Corey, and Andy. Chris’s true heart was later born, Ashlyn. They spent many weekends together and had short, quality time filled vacations. His long loves were his cats Pote and Molly. Chris’s life-long friends were Father John Kennedy, Steve Lenard, Berry Monk, and Carl White. Before she passed, Chris fulfilled his mother’s final wishes of taking her to visit Galveston, TX. He was a proud Catholic and found comfort from praying the rosary. Chris was preceded in death by his mother; paternal grandparents Margaret and Angelo Forbito; maternal grandparents Thelma and William Fox; sister Inga Forbito; brother-in-law Andre Forbito; niece Jessica Stone; and nephews Luke Peveto and Cole Peveto.
Chris is survived by his father; brother Patrick Forbito; sisters: Angel Forbito, Alisha Lawrence, Nenna Camp, D’andra Forbito, Sherry Peveto, Kim Ivey, Nancy Moncrief, and Rachael Forbito; son Ryan Forbito; grandchildren Isabelle and Emma; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of family and friends.
A memorial mass will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, February 17, 2023 at St. Paschal’s Catholic Church in West Monroe. Rev. Jerry Daigle, Jr. will officiate.
