It is with much sadness that I learned of Ms. Christine's passing this week. It seems only yesterday that I received a call at home in Atlanta one Saturday afternoon about a year ago and a sweet voice said, "Is this Gaye? Well, this is Christine." Of course, I would have known that voice anywhere. It had been a very long time since we had spoken. We talked for some time, bringing each other up to date on our families. I have so many wonderful memories growing up around the corner from the store and spending time with the family. I will miss her dearly. My thoughts and prayers are with Donnie, Kathy, Larry, and all the family during this time.

Memories , where do I start? From the first time of going to yall home to the store and then here in Wet Monroe. She was so happy at her birthday surprise party. Mrs. Christine always smiled and made all happy to be around her.. And she could make you laugh and if you needed to be talked to she could do that too. Love her so very much. She was a friend to all young and older. Every memory brings a smile. God bless all the family. Can you imagine the celebration in heaven?
Peace of mind is a call away. We're here when you need us most.

Bro. Larry: I remember visiting with your mother when she was in Glenwood. I enjoyed our conversations, and when I asked her if she wanted me to come back, she replied "yes". May Our Father in heaven give you and yours peace and comfort during this time.
Rev. Kenneth E. Ronaghan left a message on January 9, 2014:
Bro. Larry: I only met with your mother twice while she was at Glenwood. We had wonderful talks, I enjoyed seeing her, and most of all she asked me to come back again. May God grant you peace during this time.

I have so many memories of stopping at her store getting food for our lunch before going to work with dad in the fields. She could always help me persuade dad into getting me what I wanted. She was always smiling. My thoughts are with your family.

I'm so sorry to hear of Mrs. Christine's passing. I can't count how many times Daddy brought us one of her delicious sandwiches for lunch and we went for candy and cokes at her store. It has almost been a year since we lost him and not a day goes by that the pain of his loss is not there. I know they are both in a better place. Bro. Donnie, we will always remember your kind words and assistance during that difficult time and may you find the same comfort during this difficult time. All of our love and prayer to all of you in the difficult days ahead.Wendy Hillman Rathbun and familyOdessa, Texas
